Drill it. Drive it. Done.
The stainless steel Titen HD screw anchor for concrete and masonry is ideal for fast, efficient installation in a variety of environments. This advanced anchoring solution combines the lasting corrosion resistance of Type 300 stainless steel with the cutting ability of heat-treated carbon steel threads.
Innovative: The serrated carbon steel threads at the tip of the stainless steel Titen HD anchor are essential: as the anchor is driven, these threads cut into the concrete, allowing the rest of the threads to engage. To ensure these threads are strong enough, they are made of hardened carbon steel and brazed to the tip of the anchor.
Corrosion Resistance: For dry interior applications, corrosion of carbon steel is not a concern. However, in exterior, coastal or chemical environments, the anchor would be susceptible to corrosion. The introduction of the THDSS finally offers an advanced anchoring solution that combines the corrosion resistance of Type 300 stainless steel with the sacrificial cutting ability of heat-treated carbon steel cutting threads.
300 Series stainless steel screw anchors offer varying corrosion resistance depending on the environment. When matched to the environment and application, 300 Series stainless steel anchors resist corrosion and retain their strength and integrity.
Type 316 stainless steel is the optimal choice for applications in corrosive or extreme environments, such as salt water, or where chemical or corrosive solutions are present. Type 304 stainless steel is an economical solution for less extreme applications, even in humid environments.

- Drill a hole in the base material using a carbide drill bit (meeting ANSI B212.15) of the same diameter as the nominal diameter of the anchor to be installed. Drill the hole to the specified minimum depth (see table below) to allow thread tapping dust to settle, then blow it clean with compressed air. (Blowing the hole clean is not required for overhead installations.) Alternatively, drill the hole deep enough to accommodate the embedment depth and the drilling and tapping dust.
- Insert the anchor through the fixture and into the hole.
- Tighten the anchor into the base material until the hex washer head contacts the fixture.
- Where steel is thicker than 12 gauge, holes in steel fixtures to be mounted must match the diameter specified in the table below.
- Use a Titen HD screw anchor only once. Installing the anchor multiple times may cause excessive thread wear and reduce load capacity.
- Do not use impact wrenches for installation in hollow concrete block.
- Oversized holes in the base material will reduce or eliminate the mechanical interlock of the threads with the base material and reduce the anchor's load capacity.
- Concrete screw installation is generally affected by many factors, including but not limited to concrete compressive strength, aggregate type, installation location, installation direction and the tools used for installation.
